Getting your N.I.E. and Residencia

Things have changed a bit now, it's not too complicated and you can get by without knowing a lot of Spanish!
You dont need to get your NIE first now, you do it at all the same time.
If you live in Benalmadena or Torremolinos then you have to go to the Torremolinos Police Station in Calle Skal, opp. the Eurobar, see map. Go in the morning, as early as possible. Take your passport. They will give you a form to take to the bank to pay €10. Go back to the Police with your receipt and they will issue with a NIE number and the Residencia cert. Thats it! Easy!
If you are getting a UK Gov. pension, to get medical care here, you have to take your Residencia docs. and passport with copies of each and your E121, (you get that from Gov. Pensions UK), to:

Camino De La Condesa S/N, 29640 Fuengirola

They will send you a card in about 3 weeks that you can take to your local Health Center.
