Hi,out and about again! A really nice place to visit is Benalmadena Pueblo,it is a lovely village with lots of restaurants and gift shops, with fantastic views over the coast. The central point is the church this is really worth seeing, and furthermore on the outskirts of the Pueblo, there is a mosque which has a gold dome, you are allowed to walk to the top of it , but not allowed to go into the worshipping area. Some lovely walks are found here also. To get there from Torremolinos the 121(Mijas bus) leaves Torremolinos bus station on the hour and on the half hour, it takes about 45 minutes to get there but you will enjoy. If you don,t want to go to the bus station just wait at a bus stop on the main road anywhere from the bus station to Montemar and take the 121 or Mijas bus. Enjoy! Troy
Hi, not many people know this, but not too far from Torremolinos, in a place called GUADLEHORCE,there is a wildlife sanctury, which in the main focuses on birds. it is a nice quiet open area with about four lakes. About the lakes are hides where you can view the wildlife, while we were there we spotted red billed eggrets, and even saw ospreys, which are rare in this area
This is a lovely spot to visit. If you are not scared of walking, then turn left once you get to the sea from Torremolinos, and just keep walking in a straight line until you get to the far side of Guadlehorce, then turn left(this is a fair distance)
If you want to go by train. either get off at Plaza Mayor or Guadlehorce, these places are quite close to the sanctury. I think you will enjoy the peace and quietness of this area,it is a little different from the tourist aspect of this area.
I dare you to walk there and back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. enjoy

Hi, another nice place to visit without too much of a walk, is the Parque de Batteria in Torremolinos. This is a nice relaxing area, with trees imported from brazil, china, etc. The park is home to underground fortifications, and 4 cannons which point out to sea over Montemar. Unfortunately, the written history of why the fortified area was located there is written in Spanish only, so unless you are fluent you won,t gain too much about the history of the site. That apart, it is still well worth a visit, the boating lake is really nice and clean, and it only cost,s 1 euro for half an hour of pretending you are the pirates of the caribean, or a love machine on the gondolas of venice, if you have no imagination you can pretend your captain pugwash!!!!!!!! If you have little kids the play area is fantastic, you could spend a good day there obviously with a picnic basket. To get there from Torre just walk along the main towards Benalmadena, when you reach Supersol on the left ,take the next right turn and it will be sign posted to the park.Hope you enjoy
